Eighteenth Annual Meeting

ECEDHA invites you to participate in the 2002 Annual Meeting, March 15-19, 2002 at the Hutchinson Island Marriott Beach Resort and Marina in Stuart, Florida.
This year's program, Preparing the Professional of the Future, which will focus on our primary product, the new professional, begins on Friday afternoon, March 15, with registration that opens at 3:00 pm. A 1.5 hour presentation for new department chairs begins at 5:00 pm. This presentation is given by a seasoned department chair, Professor David Irwin of Auburn University, and is a must for those who are new to this role.
The Opening Reception on Friday evening at 6:30 pm provides an opportunity for you and your guest to renew old acquaintances as well as meet some new faces.
ECEDHA's Board of Directors has worked hard to design a program that will provide attendees ample time for both educational and networking opportunities. You may view the preliminary program.
The Marriott Beach Resort and Marina is located on beautiful Hutchinson Island, Stuart, Florida. The facility is part of a 200-acre island resort featuring deluxe accommodations, superb dining, comprehensive meeting facilities, and a wide range of recreation amenities including golf, tennis and marina, spa, and full watersports department. Renovations are currently underway (September-November 2001) but no inconvenience is anticipated by our meeting. Please reference the ECEDHA meeting when making your reservation to insure receiving the special ECEDHA room rate of $155. The Resort is 38 miles from Palm Beach International Airport and 80 miles from Ft. Lauderdale Airport. Rental cars are readily available at each airport, or you can call either of the following transportation companies to arrange your hotel transfers: Any Place, Any Time - (561) 335-5858 or Airport Connection - (800) 282-5466. A special program will be provided for your spouse/guest on Saturday, March 16th. The Spouse/Guest Registration fee of $125 includes Friday evening's welcome reception, Saturday's breakfast, tour and luncheon, as well as Saturday evening's reception, dinner and program, and Monday's reception and dinner.

ECEDHA EC2000 WorkshopOn Friday, March 15, 2002, ECEDHA will facilitate a special full day ABET EC2000 workshop in the Hutchinson Island Martiott for those programs to be visited under ABET EC2000 in the Fall of 2003. This meeting is designed to accommodate one person from each EE/CompEng program to be visited under Criteria 2000 in Fall 2003, in preparation for the visit. Registration for this workshop is SEPARATE from registration for the 2002 Annual Meeting. You may obtain a registration form for this workshop by calling the ECEDHA office at 312-559-4625. The workshop fee, which includes a continental breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Friday evening, is $300 per attendee. Your guest may attend the Friday dinner at a cost of $25. Payment for this special workshop can be made by check or credit card (Visa, Master Card, American Express, Discover, Diners Club). IEEE ABET Workshop for Program EvaluatorsThe IEEE will also sponsor a one day program on Sunday, March 17, 2002, beginning with a continental breakfast at 8:00 am and closing at 5:00 pm.
