ECEDHA Annual Awards

Nominations are invited for awards to be made during the next ECEDHA Annual Meeting. You are encouraged to nominate an individual for the Outstanding Leadership and Service award and to nominate a program for the Innovative Program award. Please send your nomination both to Kathy Ricker, ECEDHA Coordinator, IEC, 549 W. Randolph, Suite 600, Chicago, IL 60661 (tel. 312-559-3724) kricker@iec.org and also to the awards committee chair (listed below). Your nomination should include the nominee's name, award title, reason for nomination, and supporting information. Approximately one-page of information should be adequate; please include information on how we may contact you should we require additional information.

Please submit your nominations by January 15, 2004 for the 2004 ECEDHA Annual Meeting. Award guidelines and committee members are given below. Your assistance in recognizing one or more of our outstanding colleagues and innovative programs will be appreciated.

GUIDELINES FOR ECEDHA AWARDS

The two primary recognitions awarded by ECEDHA at the annual conference are the OUTSTANDING LEADERSHIP AND SERVICE AWARD and the INNOVATIVE PROGRAM AWARD. If during a given year sufficiently meritorious individuals or programs cannot be identified, it is not necessary to make the corresponding award.

Outstanding Leadership and Service Award

This award is given to an individual with a sustained record of leadership and service to ECEDHA (primary) and to electrical and computer engineering (secondary). The individual recognized by this award need not be a member of ECEDHA at the time of the award, nor is it necessary for a candidate to have been a department head, but preference will be given to candidates who have made significant contributions to ECEDHA.

Innovative Program Award

This award is given to individual(s) or department(s) that has (have) created, implemented, and sustained the implementation of a successful innovative program and possibly assisted in the implementation of that program at other institutions. A successful program is one that has stood the test of time (i.e., formal integration into a program of study) and has produced measurable improvements in the quality of the electrical and computer education received by a significant number of students at one or more institutions.
