Langis Roy
Carleton University
Dr. Langis Roy is a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Chair of the Department of Electronics at Carleton University. He collaborates extensively with companies in the wireless communications sector, and serves on the board of several research fund granting agencies and technical conferences. His research interests are in microwave electronics, high performance electronic circuit packaging, integrated active antennas, numerical techniques in electromagnetics, and electromagnetic compatibility of ICs.
Dr. Roy has been a faculty member since 1993, has co-authored over 100 scientific papers with his research group, holds two patents on pioneering system-on-package designs, and has given numerous invited talks to organizations such as Philips Research Labs (Eindhoven, NL), International Wireless Packaging Consortium IWPC (Washington, DC) and National Semiconductor Corp. (Santa Clara, CA).
In 2005/06, he was a Visiting Professor at the VTT Micromodules Research Center (Oulu, Finland) and an Invited Professor at the INSA Electrical and Computer Engineering Department (Toulouse, France). He is currently an Invited Researcher at IETR (Rennes, France) and is the 2010 Chair of CHECE (Canadian Heads of Electrical and Computer Engineering Departments).
Dr. Roy is a licensed professional engineer in the Province of Ontario. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Carleton University.
