ECEDHA

ORGANIZATION

ECEDHA is run in accordance with the ECEDHA constitution, by three elected officers who are ECEDHA members and must also be IEEE members.
Current officers (July 1, 2009 - June 30, 2010):

The President conducts a business meeting annually during the ECEDHA Annual Meeting. All ECEDHA members are encouraged to attend.

ECEDHA is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of the following:

  • Three elected officers
    • President
    • Vice-President
    • Secretary/Treasurer
  • Two most recent Presidents
    • Past President
    • Senior Past President
  • Two members at large
  • Representative from CHECE/DGEIC (Calendar Year Terms)
  • Representative from the International Engineering Consortium (IEC) Board
  • Executive Director of ECEDHA

The normal progression of officers of ECEDHA is from Secretary/Treasurer to Vice-President to President to Junior Past President to Senior Past President. This progression is interrupted if one of the people ceases to be a department head (an exception is that the President, once in office, normally continues to serve out his or her term). In the past the most frequent reason for this interruption has been that one of the officers becomes a Dean (gasp!).

The Board normally meets twice a year, once during the Annual meeting in the spring, and once in the summer.

Members of the Board of Directors welcome comments and suggestions from ECEDHA members at any time.

ECEDHA Committees

The Board appoints ECEDHA committees from time to time. The Nominating Committee is required by the ECEDHA constitution. The following committees are currently in operation:

Administration:

ECEDHA's administration has been carried out by the International Engineering Consortium (IEC) since 1986. The IEC is dedicated to catalyzing technology and business progress worldwide and offers a wide range of educational programming at its conferences and exhibitions. Since 2004, the IEC has also managed the activities of Eta Kappa Nu Association (HKN), the electrical and computer engineering honor society.
