In Memory of Dr. Edward ErnstECEDHA and all of engineering education lost a visionary leader with the recent passing of Dr. Ed Ernst. His multifaceted service included decades-long, distinguished service as a professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the University of South Carolina. In his capacity as the Vice Chairman of the International Engineering Consortium (IEC), he was instrumental in the formation of the IEC-ECEDHA relationship, which has had a profound impact on both organizations. Ed was an active member of the IEEE and played a major role in engineering accreditation as president of ABET and a member of the ABET Industry Advisory Council. He led efforts to start the Journal of Engineering Education and served as its first editor. These are but a few of his many contributions. Ed Ernst will always be remembered as a thoughtful and valued colleague. ------ |
