The 2010 Annual Conference and ECExpo is soon approaching. We look forward to catching up with many of you in Florida in March. This issue of The ECEDHA Source features many new and continuing opportunities available to ECEDHA members at the Annual Conference including the inaugural ECExpo, ECE Spotlights, Regional Meetings, exciting keynotes and more.

Native Hawaiian Science & Engineering Mentorship Program: A Look at Increasing Student Diversity at the University of Hawaii

NHSEMP was founded in 2001 to increase enrollment and retain Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander students in Engineering and STEM disciplines.

Engineering Education in a Changing World

The world is changing in many ways. We continually ask ourselves whether our graduates are going to have the attributes and skills they will need for careers over the next 40 years. Some of the drivers for change are new technologies that are emerging at an incredible pace. In particular, the continued importance of multidisciplinary technologies is increasing the need to be able to communicate across disciplines in order to have effective, system-level designs.

Save the date for the 2010 ECEDHA Annual Conference and ECExpo and the inaugural ECExpo, "Looking Forward to the Next 25 Years," March 12-16, 2010 in Clearwater, Florida. The ECEDHA Board of Directors has put together an outstanding program and allowed plenty of time for networking with your colleagues. ECE Spotlights - An Annual Conference Highlight

ECEDHA is pleased to offer a new program, ECE Spotlights, on Sunday, March 14 during the Annual Conference. Spend the morning networking with Spotlight companies at a continental breakfast and then view short corporate presentations to learn more about what these companies can offer you. Follow up one-on-one with most of these Spotlight companies during the ECExpo on Monday, March 15. There is no additional registration fee to attend. You won't want to miss this!
Then spend your afternoon relaxing on the beach in sunny Florida!

ABET Workshop for Upcoming Visit Preparation
- Taking Place at the Annual Conference
|
|
The ABET Workshop for departments undergoing review now or in the near future will be Friday, March 12 at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort in Clearwater, FL. The workshop is prior to the start of the Annual Conference and ECExpo and requires separate registration.
Feedback from participants is always positive and ECEDHA is pleased to continue to offer this benefit to its members and help prepare them for their reviews.

ECEDHA Guest Program - Bring a Guest to the Annual Conference

Bring a guest to sunny Florida in March and share in the ECEDHA conference activities. A full day of exciting activities are planned for Saturday, March 13 including breakfast in the hotel, a private tour of a rescue aquarium and boat tour to see the marine life in their natural habitats, and lunch.
