The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department Heads Association (ECEDHA) has served the ECE community by providing programs and services to support professional growth and propagate best practices among ECE educators. At the 2014 ECEDHA Annual Conference and ECExpo, members gathered for its 30th independent gathering of association members.
During the meeting, several past and present members of the ECEDHA Board of Directors came together for a breakfast meeting in which the history and progress of the organization was discussed. At this meeting, the idea of the ECEDHA Foundation was born.
ECEDHA has catered to its membership by fostering advances in the disciplines of electrical and computer engineering, facilitating interaction and exchange of ideas among its members, and improving communication with the profession, industry, government, and other communities of interest. However, there is still much work to be done.
The ECEDHA Foundation has since been established to guide, support and fund significant educational programming activities to advance electrical and computer engineering. In addition, the creation of an ECEDHA Endowment Fund will ensure the long-term viability of the Association and its academic services, as well as provide a stable source of program funding beyond the current activities of the Association.
