Join us at the ECEDHA Listening Session - Preparing for the Future of Higher Education

Uniting for a Common Future

As the landscape of higher education faces new challenges under the current federal administration, ECEDHA is taking a proactive stance to ensure that our community remains resilient, innovative, and forward-thinking. With this vision in mind, we announce the upcoming Listening Session at this year's ECEDHA Annual Conference, an essential gathering to hear from you, our academic members.

The ECEDHA Listening Session is a platform for every voice in our academic community. In these changing times, it is crucial that we come together to listen, rally, and share ideas. The policies and directions that may be set forth by the current administration will significantly influence how we serve our students, faculty, research enterprises, and communities. This session will allow us to gather insights and prepare for these potential new pathways.

Our Goals

Scheduled for Friday, March 21st, the Listening Session will kick off with an introduction from John Janowiak, ECEDHA’s Executive Director, to frame our discussion, followed by group polling and small group dialogues. Here, participants can express their concerns and innovative ideas freely. The session will culminate with a read-out from the small groups so all attendees and view.

In this session, our primary objective is to intently listen to our community's diverse experiences and perspectives. We aim to ensure that every voice is heard and valued, reflecting the broad spectrum of our academic family. By rallying together, we will strengthen our collective capacity to influence and adapt to changes within the educational and political landscape. Sharing innovative ideas and solutions will be pivotal as we explore ways to adapt our teaching, research, and community engagement to better meet evolving policies and the needs of our stakeholders. Ultimately, the insights we gather will guide us in proactively preparing our institutions to remain competitive, inclusive, and responsive in these dynamic times.
