Fluke Corporation

The Basics

How many years have you been with your current company? 9 years

First job? Office Intern when I was 16 and a junior in high school - US West Communications (now part of Century Link) in Littleton, CO

Where were you born? Flagstaff, AZ - Coconino Hospital

Where did you grow up? Aurora, CO

Corporate Perspective

What do you want the academic community to know or understand about your company?

Our company founder, John Fluke, was a great inventor and cared deeply about our employees and customers. While he networked and collaborated with Dell, Edison, and engineers from HP, he was very humble. And cared deeply about our employee and customers. There are many stories of John interacting with employees of all levels and wanting to hear about the steps we were taking to “give customers more than they expected.” We strive to follow his motto and offer a variety of tools and resources to meet your needs. We value a decision to purchase a Fluke instrument and want to be a partner in creating labs that develop the next generation of engineers.

If you had to choose another profession, what would you choose?

In my dreams, retired. Living on an island volunteering with various STEM and financial education organizations.

Beyond the Desk

Who/what inspires you?

The resiliency and determination of generations before me. The recent global and national events have made me much more introspective and question how people continued to fight for their beliefs- risking their lives for equality. And survived in a world that did not have treatments or cures for illnesses and diseases. Or even the technology that has been created in the last 30 years (i.e. smartphones, computers, and internet).

Philosophy of life in a nutshell?

"Your brand is what people say about you when you’re not in the room." -Jeff Bezos

Should always treat people with respect. Be confident. You never know who is watching you. Own who you are and know your worth.

Nobody is better than me when it comes to...

Monopoly. I beat everyone. My family and friends hate playing with me. LOL!

If there is one thing I learned in life, it is…

"When people show you who they are, believe them." -Maya Angelou

In my opinion, the greatest invention of all time is…

An airplane. I love to travel.  Being able to transport to another continent within 24 hours is something we do not appreciate enough.

One thing people do not realize about me is…

I am the queen of useless facts. I know the most random info. I read and watch a lot of various books and documentaries. I love any type of “Did you know” info.
