Join us for a tour of the University of Arizona Laboratory of Tree-Ring Research. A bus will take you to the lab at the University of Arizona campus and return you to the El Conquistador Tucson. Note that this tour is only available to 50 registrants. Please sign up for the tour while registering for the ECEDHA Annual Conference. Tour spots will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis until the tour is full.
In 1937, the scientific study of tree-rings in America was formalized by the creation of the Laboratory of Tree-Ring Research at the University of Arizona in Tucson. The Laboratory of Tree-Ring Research was at one time, the nation's only dendrochronology lab. During the tour, you will be introduced to the basic tenets of dendrochronology, have a chance to examine specimens, and explore the Exhibit Hall. While there will be opportunities for sitting, be advised that there is an excessive amount of walking through the Laboratory.
